PRIOR LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

Sustainable programs. Access preserved.

Changing sports-program finances while retaining scholarships for families who needed them.

The situation

Basketball and baseball programs required the organization to absorb a deficit exceeding $20,000.

What Robert changed

Robert introduced a fee-based structure that overcame the deficit and eliminated the programs’ need for organizational budget support. Scholarships remained available for participants unable to afford the fees.

The operational responsibility

His basketball responsibilities included recruitment, training, and coordination of 42 teams and 420 players, with games on two days and at two locations.

The reported result

The programs no longer needed organizational budget support. The amount describes a deficit previously absorbed by the organization; it is not presented as annual profit or repayment of historical losses.

What this brings to an engagement

Financial sustainability and access can be considered together. The work requires attention to program costs, pricing, participation, operational coordination, and the purpose the organization serves.
