Mission
Rudder & Keel helps organizations understand what is creating unnecessary friction, recover capacity, and make practical changes that improve how work gets done.
Vision
We want organizations—including those serving rural and often-overlooked communities—to have access to practical, evidence-informed help that reduces unnecessary friction, strengthens the way work gets done, and creates room for people and organizations to make meaningful progress.
Values
Our values are working standards. They shape what we examine, how we reach conclusions, and what we recommend.
Respect the people closest to the work. Performance matters, and so do dignity, clarity, trust, and the conditions in which people are expected to perform.
Start with questions. Test assumptions against available evidence, seek competing explanations, and be clear about what we know and what we do not.
Make expectations, ownership, decisions, and next steps understandable. Accountability works best when people know what is expected and have a fair opportunity to deliver it.
Prefer useful improvement over unnecessary complexity. Test focused changes, measure what happens, learn from the result, and keep getting better.
