Among frontline contact-center employees experiencing significant workplace change, which individual, leadership, team, communication, training, and organizational conditions predict successful adaptation over time, and which factors predict fatigue, disengagement, performance disruption, or exit?
Why this study matters
Study #005 will investigate readiness and adaptation without assuming that resistance is an employee defect, that all change is beneficial, or that employees should simply become more resilient to poorly designed change. The study will distinguish individual adaptability from the quality, pace, sequencing, communication, training, resourcing, leadership, and operational consequences of the change itself. Findings that suggest organizational conditions matter more than individual readiness will be reported with equal weight.

Organizational readiness, change fatigue, job demands/resources and implementation quality are established; change-type and saturation thresholds are less settled.

Contact-center thresholds, change-load effects and the distinction between employee readiness and organizational capacity.

Research status and limitations
This study is being published as ongoing research. Interviews, surveys, employer data, longitudinal evidence, validation, or replication may support, narrow, contradict, or reject the current hypotheses. Preliminary observations will not be presented as industry-wide conclusions.

Study 005 treats readiness as more than an employee attitude. It separates readiness before change, the implementation environment during change, adaptation behavior, sustainability, and actual outcomes.
Is resistance to change treated as an employee problem?
No. The study explicitly tests organizational explanations such as poor sequencing, weak communication, insufficient training, inadequate resources, workload, system reliability, and change saturation.
